Which MEWP's do we provide traing for?

IPAF courses can be tailored to an organizations specific requirements. Trade Skill Ltd are able to cover a variety of mobile elevated working platforms (MEWP's) including:

Who Should Attend An IPAF Course

Those who use, supervise or manage the use of powered access scissor lifts, self-propelled boom lifts, trailer mounted boom lifts and aerial work platforms should all attend these training courses.

IPAF Course Aims

The aim of the operator course is to provide course attendees with an understanding of the need for accident prevention, safe operational procedures, emergency descent operations and the responsibilities of the employers and employees. These courses cover the main aims of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations. There is also information on LOLER regs in respect of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms)

General Course Content

- Introduction and pre-course theory test

- MEWP categories

    - Structural parts
    - Regulations - ISO 18878, European, HASAWA, PUWER, LOLER, MHSW, WAHR, RIDDOR.

- Pre-use inspection/handovers

- Safe operating methods and hazards

    - Theory test
    - Practical training
    - Practical assessment

    IPAF Certification

Individuals who successfully complete the course will be issued with an accredited and nationally recognized certificate and PAL card (Powered Access Licence) which is valid for 5 years.
