City and Guilds 2396-01 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations
City and Guilds 2396-01
is the replacement qualification for City and Guilds 2391-20. It is
essentially at a higher qualification level than 2391-20 at "Level 4"
which puts it at almost the equivalence of a technical diploma.
The City & Guilds Electrical Design course offers you the
opportunity to gain a level 4 qualification. By completing this course
successfully you will be able to design and erect an electrical
installation. The focus of the content of 2396 is to give you the
knowledge to allow you to successfully be able to create the right
installation based on the influences of the surrounding environment,
routing, suitability, cable sizing and management.
Your tutor will guide you through the syllabus and provide you with one set assignment. The course contents include:
- Processes of the installation design, construction and commissioning
- The statutory and non-statutory requirements of electrical installation design, management, construction and verification
- BS 7671 requirements for installation design
- Single and ply phase design and verification
- The principles for designing and installing an associated protective system
- Renewable energy sources and technologies to factor into electrical installation designs
Who is the 2396 Course Aimed Towards?
In
order to enrol on the Electrical Design City & Guilds course you
must be aged 18 or over. It€™s necessary that you have some experience
in electrical installations and beneficial if you already hold one of
the following qualifications:
City & Guilds Inspection & Testing 2391-10
City & Guilds Initial Verification & Certification 2394
City & Guilds Period Inspection & Testing 2395
A
qualification showing the candidate has understanding and knowledge of
the 17th Edition is also highly recommended, such as the City &
Guilds 2382.

City and Guilds Electrical Design Course Duration
The
Electrical Design course is usually a 5 day course. Some of our centres
run a block course while others run it one day a week for 5 weeks. If

City and Guilds 2396 Training Assessment and Success
In
order to successfully be awarded with the City & Guilds Electrical
Design certificate you will need to pass an assignment (you will be
guided by a tutor throughout this process). There is also a written
examination which will take place shortly after the course has been
completed.
