PAT Testing courses are open to anyone looking to gain a professional qualification which will allow them to become a PAT tester. There are no formal qualifications needed to attend the course and there is no need to be a practicing electrician. All you need is common sense and the desire to learn a new skill. It may help if you have some previous electrical or PAT testing knowledge, but you will be taught everything you need to know on the course anyway.

What is PAT Testing?

PAT Testing stands for Portable Appliance Testing. The purpose of PAT testing is to ensure that electrical equipment is in a safe condition for the public to use. It is a legal obligation to ensure all items within a commercial premise are PAT tested at least once a year. Our City & Guilds accredited course will ensure you are taught to the correct principles to be able to competently test all the electrical items you may encounter.

What Does the Course Consist Of?

During the course you will recieve BOTH theory and practical training. Even though a PAT testing machine is used to test electrical equipment, you are taught to such a standard that you will able to spot potential problems with just a visual examination.

Will I Learn a Formal Qualification?

Our PAT Testing course is a nationally recognised qualification awarded by the internationally renown City and Guilds. The syllabus has been built around the IEE Code of Practice, and all candidates will need to pass the examination in order to be awarded with the formal certificate.

Our City & Guilds PAT testing courses are tutor led and held at various training centres up and down the UK. Our tutors are fully qualified to teach and have a number of years experience within the industry.
