Course Description:

This course is suitable for Domestic Electricians pursuing Part P registration. Focusing on the requirements for Domestic Electrical Installations and their compliance within building regulations. This qualification can be used, in addition to time served industry experience or other supporting qualifications, in your Part P registration. However your Part P registration is not included in the course itself.

Those working in related building trades may find this course of benefit as it covers the affect domestic installations have on other areas of construction.

City and Guilds 2393-10 is regarded as a benchmark qualification for all electricians who are involved in the domestic electrical industry, and is widely recognised by the competent person’s scheme providers as the “must have” certification. Covering the building regulations requirements that apply to domestic electrical work, the course looks at aspects of building control and the other parts of the building regulations and the implementation and procedures that are required to be followed. Please note that this course is only applicable to the Building Regulations in England and Wales.
We recommend that delegates who wish to attend this course should have the 17th Edition City and Guilds 2382-10 or the update from the 16th edition to the 17th edition; City and Guilds 2382-20.

Course content

On completion of the course, participants will understand:

•Scope, purpose and structure of Building Regulations
• Types of notifiable and non notifiable items
• Building control and inspection
• Building control enforcement
• Compliance with Approved documents: A, B, E, F, L1 & M

All candidates are assessed via 20 multiple choice questions – the “open book” examination is carried out using the computer based City and Guilds Gola system – all candidates are given their results at the end of the examination.
