High Quality Solar PV Qualifications
posted on: 25 Sep 2012

If you would like to undertake solar PV training you have a choice of three excellent courses to consider. All of the courses are popular, but the most popular of the three seems to be the City and Guilds 2372 and 2399. This is a course which has been established for longer, and the 2399 is ideal if you are looking to be educated in alternative renewable energy sources such as wind power.

For solar PV training you have the choice of:

  • The City and Guilds 2372
  • NICEIC Solar PV training
  • Logic Solar PV Training

The City and Guilds 2372 Solar PV Training

This course is split into two units, the knowledge of Photovoltaic systems and the practical applications. This will ensure all candidates are fully competent in both the theory and practical sides of this work. Unit one focuses on safety, components and the guidelines, regulations and the Codes of Practice. You will learn about installation processes, commissioning and testing and customer care, as well as the PV systems themselves.

Unit two focuses on how to ensure your work area is safe and how to perform some of the basic roofing techniques. You will install and commission a basic grid and focus on how to position and install at height.

NICEIC Solar PV Course

In order to take this course you must have already passed the City and Guilds 17th Edition training so you are up to date on the IEE Wiring Regulations. You will learn about making initial checks, solar irradiance calculations and the insulator tests. The course goes into the various types of panels which are available as well as the building regulations and grid connected systems. You will leave knowing everything you need to begin installing PV panels and have a recognised qualification to prove you are competent.

Logic Solar PV Courses

Like the other two courses previously mention this one is nationally recognised. You will learn about the background of the market as well as the grant funding routes. Regulations and standards are also covered along with AC and DC theories, health and safety and the benefits of the different cell types.

If you wish to begin earning money installing solar panels any one of these solar PV training courses will give you the skills you need. Our team are waiting to advise you if you need assistance in deciding which course is best, simply call 0844 3307 382 today.
