The City & Guilds 2356 level 3 NVQ is one of the most highly regarded electrical qualifications within the electrical industry. This qualification is otherwise known as the 'missing link' by many as it has helped them to achieve the very sought after 'Fully Qualified Electrician' status from the JIB. The NVQ can take place at any location nationwide and can be started as soon as you are ready.

Which NVQ is for me?

This NVQ is aimed at those who are currently working within the electrical industry. City & Guilds recommend that you have also been working within the industry for at least two years. There are two versions of the City & Guilds 2356 level 3 NVQ, so please take a look at both options below:

- If you already hold an underpinning knowledge qualification, for example the City & Guilds 2330, then you able to complete the shorter version of the NVQ in order to reach the sought after status of 'Fully Qualified Electrican'. What is the structure of the City & Guilds 2356 level 3 NVQ? And how will I achieve this qualification?

By using one of the UK's leading e-portfolio systems we are able to deliver courses wherever and whenever to meet your needs. This means we can deliver the City & Guilds 2356 level 3 NVQ nationwide as there are no site visits necessary for practicing operatives. By embracing technology to enhance but not replace delivery, we are able to offer courses to you that suit individual learning styles and can be completed at a pace that meets individual requirements.

This City & Guilds 2356 Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation consists of 8 units and with the use of the e-portfolio process it allows you to build up site diaries and collect evidence of the work that you may encounter on a daily basis in your place of work based on these units. Guidance will always be given by your designated Assessor on what is required for each of the units. A full induction and training will be given on the e-portfolio system at the start of your training.

Will I recieve support from the tutors at Trade Skills?

We offer advice and guidance at times when most providers are closed, being there on an evening and weekend to answer any questions by phone or email. We realize our candidates are in employment and need the expertise and advice whenever needed. Help and support will be given to you on a one to one basis by our qualified experienced assessors. Communication with you can be either by email, telephone or whichever is the most appropriate form of communication to provide you support throughout this City & Guilds 2356 Level 3 NVQ Qualification.

How long will it take me to complete the City & Guilds 2356 Level 3 NVQ?

The City & Guilds 2356 level 3 NVQ is completed in your own time using our Leading e-Portfolio system. You need to cover EACH of the eight units on three SEPARATE occasions by completing site diaries for each unit. This means that you can complete this NVQ as quickly as you wish providing you have the necessary evidence to do so.

To date, our quickest completion has been done in two months, but on average we would advise a realistic target of between three to four months due to your outside commitments and working hours. Of course, if you have more time to give and the relevant evidence then this can be achieved much quicker. It is entirely up to you how fast you complete this City & Guilds 2356 level 3 NVQ due to the flexibility of completing this in the comfort of your own home.

Please note: City & Guilds will not issue your certificate until you have been registered on this NVQ for ten weeks. So although you can complete the City & Guilds 2356 Level 3 NVQ within this time period, City & Guilds will not award you with your certificate until ten weeks has passed from the date you registered.
